Mrs. Jessica Hamilton (formerly Ms. Ramos) is a music educator in the Southern California/Inland Empire area. She graduated from the University of Redlands with her Bachelors of Music in Music Education and Clarinet Performance along with her teaching credential. Two years later, she earned her Masters of Music in Clarinet Performance.
Mrs. Hamilton has always loved music from an early age and was able to teach herself how to play a myriad of instruments. She has performed in several groups - the Redlands Symphony, collegiate Wind Ensembles and Orchestras, Women's Choir, Trumpet Ensemble, Percussion Ensemble, and Clarinet Choir. She is also a veteran of the Air National Guard Band of the West Coast, playing principal clarinet on tour around California. She also enjoys playing keyboard and drum set for her church (Sandals) on the weekends and of course, teaching at Truman Middle School.
Last year, Mrs. Hamilton was awarded Teacher of the Year at Truman Middle School in 2024. In addition, she had 6 students get into the San Bernardino County Honor Band & Orchestra, her Advanced Band performed in the San Bernardino County Performing Arts Showcase and was awarded $2,500, and both her Advanced Band and Advanced Orchestra earned an “Excellent” at the SCSBOA Festival.
Mrs. Hamilton is blessed to be teaching at Truman for the 3rd year. She is extremely proud of her current students and of her alumni who have continued in band.
